Graduate of the Faculty of Geology, Geophysics and Environmental Protection of the Stanislaw Staszic Academy of Mining and Metallurgy in Krakow, doctor of habilitation in Earth sciences in the discipline of geology, professor of science and natural sciences since 2020. From 2017 to 2024, director of the Institute of Mineral and Energy Economy of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

He has more than 30 years of experience in the areas of economic, deposit and mining geology, mineral resources management, mining economics, raw materials policy, and energy policy. He has authored and co-authored more than 270 scientific publications and more than 100 expert reports for the Ministry of Environment, other ministries, and business entities in the field of geology and mining.
