Kazimierz Karolczak

Chairman of the GZM Metropolis

He coordinates work related to the Metropolis' implementation of statutory tasks: shaping of spatial order, social and economic development, development and integration of public mass transport and promotion. Previously, he served as Deputy Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship, where he was responsible for issues related to the European Social Fund, Environmental Protection, and the Economy, among others.

From 1999 to 2003, he ran a business. Then in 2003 he founded one of the first employment agencies in Poland, WORKER Sp. z o.o., which soon became one of the largest companies operating in its field. In 2007 WORKER Sp. z o.o. was sold to an international investor. At the time of the sale, the company recorded revenues of more than PLN 50 million and employed and posted nearly 3,000 employees.
