Electrical engineer, university teacher, designer. Employee of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Silesian University of Technology since December 2002, where he has served as Vice-Dean for Cooperation and Development since September 2020. Author and co-author of more than 100 publications (articles and monographs) in the field of: unconventional electrical devices, electromechanical transducers, solutions for RES, electrical heating devices, electrothermology, measurement methods in laser techniques and solutions for medicine. Co-author of 3 patents.
Dr. Eng. Marcin Szczygieł has extensive experience in the field of cooperation with the social and economic environment and foreign cooperation gained through cooperation with business and in the framework of scientific activities in the framework of conferences, scientific stays, and participation in international programs CEEPUS, ERASMUS+ and TEMPUS-MEDA. Participated in 10 internships and scientific stays in countries in Europe and Africa, including France, England, Germany, Sweden, Slovakia, Egypt. Served as project manager and contractor in 9 projects funded by EU, NCBiR and MNiSW. Expert and reviewer in the field of electromechanical transducers, electrical devices, electrode boilers. Reviewer of domestic and foreign journals.
He is a member of the Section of Mechatronics and Power Electronics in Mining, the Mining Commission of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Katowice, the Polish Chamber of Civil Engineers, the Silesian District Chamber of Civil Engineers, the Association of Polish Electrical Engineers (SEP), the Polish Society of Theoretical and Applied Electrical Engineering (PTETiS), the Polish Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (PTMTS) and the Polish Society of Electromagnetism Applications (PTZE).
