European Congress of Industry and Energy INDUSTRY IN TRANSITION coming in June!

The two day congress will be held at the International Congress Center in Katowice, 3rd to 4th June this year, it is a new event in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s calendar. Its objective is to create a platform for the exchange of knowledge, experiences and demands, thanks to which Polish and European decision-makers will have the opportunity to discuss in a broad and representative group the directions and principles of transformation of the European industrial and energy sector.

Congress discussions are expected to help define the key trends shaping the future of industry and energy, and develop best practices for their adaptation to global climate challenges and rapidly developing new technologies. The transformation process should adapt these industries to meet the goals of sustainable development, taking into account environmental requirements, but also the economic and social development of individual countries. The place and role of Poland in EU industrial and energy policy, as well as the place and role of EU countries as a whole in the global economy will also be the subject of debate.

–We want to send a clear signal to the Commission and the European Parliament that they should listen to the voice of business. Climate change, growing social expectations for sustainability are affecting increasing competition. We should remember that industry is the main engine of development and source of innovation. It is also a key element in the security of the Polish economy and is responsible for 20% of the national GDP. As the world moves toward CO2 reduction and green energy, we must be ready to adapt in order to remain competitive. I hope that through the exchange of opinions during the INDUSTRY IN TRANSITION Congress, we will jointly look for the best direction for the inevitable changes we are all facing – explains Tomasz Zjawiony, President of the RIG in Katowice.

The Congress will be attended by representatives of the European Commission and the European Parliament, Polish Government Ministers, MPs and senators, representatives of central institutions related to the broadly defined industrial and energy sector, local authorities, managers of key industrial and energy companies, representatives of universities and journalists of industry magazines.

Representatives of such industries as energy, renewable energy sources, industry, metallurgy, mining and new technologies are especially invited to participate and discuss during the European Industry and Energy Congress INDUSTRY IN TRANSITION.

–We are also open to the participation of small and medium-sized entrepreneurs cooperating with large industrial and energy entities, NGOs, students and all those interested in the topics discussed – adds Tomasz Zjawiony, President of the Chamber, organizer of the event.
